Went to Excelsior Restaurant today with my family after tutoring, (another Saturday lunch)! And it was a pretty nice restaurant, well the food was nice so I thought it was a worthy of a blog post :)
The restaurant is focused on "international cuisine", meaning they serve food from a range of different cultures (I think there was thai, chinese, cafe style sandwiches, etc.)
I tried the "degustation meal" set (for $20) because it offered me 4 different courses :)
It started off with an entree (there were about 4 choices), but I chose the ox-tongue skewers that came along with a side salad. It was actually really nice!
Next, there was a soup of the day which happened to be a cream of mushroom soup..
As for the main, I chose a "minute steak" with pepper/mustard sauce..
The dessert was a rockmelon pudding with carnation milk and sago
As for my parents, my mum got a similar set menu except for a main she got a fillet of fish in creamy sauce with rice and veggies, whilst my dad got a baked pork chop rice
Overall, I must say that the quality of the food was good and the waiters there had excellent service. They all were really gentle and polite, worthy of tipping for sure ;)
The only thing is it's a bit hard to find if you're not used to the area (like me!) because it's underground in sort of an arcade!
I'd recommend going here!
Overall Rating: 8- 8.5 / 10 !
